CZ858 Purchase thread / What Org to support ?

Checkout the CBC story on the Liberals misuse of stats to sway public support towards the new gun bill.
It's nice to see a journalist actually engaged for once!
If Mainstream non shooters in Canada new half the story they would be far less susceptible to being played by dishonest politicians and activists with an agenda.

Trying to educate the uneducated about our gun laws is what the CCFR's mandate is.

Ever wonder why that is? Is it 100% altruistic? Or could it be that membership dues are going into paying the talent and production teams of those educational videos?

If you're happy that your membership dues are going to line the pockets of a few individuals, then that's your choice. But let's go into this with eyes wide open and know that even when the talent was "volunteering" money was likely exchanging hands at least for being the on screen face.

With the member base being so low in the CCFR, and there now being two paid top level employees plus the money required to keep the lights on and continue with high production value videos. Well it makes a person wonder how much of the member dues are going toward fighting back in court vs it all being a PR campaign that financially benefits a few people.

With the tribal echo chambers that social media has become, who do you think is watching their PR campaigns? Do you honestly think it's people that would rather get their news from the CBC, or do you think it's fellow sport shooters?

The CCFR has done what the other two couldn't. They've established good publicity in the media. They are very active, and professional on all forms of social media. They are actively lobbying politicians AND the public. That's the key. We need the citizenry on our side just as much as we need politicians, if not more.
And the others aren't. You can't possibly be that naïve. ...Oh, wait a minute.

I don't understand. What is the point of prohibited license if you can still get an ATT to take to the range to shoot? Why not just make it restricted and skip the BS? Just because they want to flaunt their power?

Same reason as the magazine rivet.

To jam their finger into your eye, and say "What are you going to do about it?"

The promise of a att is to get fools to register their 858's because they think they will still get to use them at the range. In actuality you will get a att only for a limited period of time before they quit issuing them altogether. They will be no different then the rest of the prohibited rifles that are owned but not allowed to go anywhere.

My 858 is going from an NR coyote gun to a range toy, and then...

To a safe queen.

They want them registered, and they're dangling the ATT carrot in front of us "so you can still use it" - except not in the way I have been using it, or particularly want to use it. I already have enough range toys. My 858 was so I could have a "modern" (ish) platform gun I could shoot at the farm, and not have to worry about paperwork or hassle.

And eventually, they'll stop issuing the ATT for it anyway, like they've done for almost all the other 12.x guns over the years. And at some point, they'll say "well, because you can't use it anyway, what's the p[oint of having a 12.x gun?" - and off it goes to the smelter.

The Liberals have been nickle and diming us out of our rights since the mid '70's. They're playing the long game.

Very true ; that is the exact same procedure that the liberal govt. followed previously. Same old rodeo , just a different horse.....nothing has changed .

What is the incentive of registering an 858 that you may or may not own the day the bill passes? There probably is not the number of 858's out there as some of the Liberals think there are. I would be real surprised if there are many at all.

Take Care

With the new C-71 bill nothing is safe so whats it matter if you have a prohib 858. They will know exactly what you have come June 2018 thanks for the back door registry and your ####ed.

Enjoy what you have now before your high powered bolt action .308 sniper rifle is banned or your high capacity pump action Mossberg with the tactical 18.5 inch barrel.

We cant even use spears to hunt lol.
