I've been seeing these two rifle lines mentioned, not sure what the differences are, except the CSA is more expensive, I read. A non-restricted CZ and CSA looks almost identical with some interchangeable parts? Is the CSA immune from the Gremlin issue? Same "beaver barf" furniture or something else? Any info at all would be appreciated.

Anyone shed some light on this?

One better than the other and worth buying? I see CSA has some compacts that CZ does not.

If the CSA does not have a Gremlin issue and is built better, it might be my next purchase...

well the non restricted CSA 858 isnt for sale yet, but the only differences I can tell between the CZ and CSA is that the CSA's are tabbed to correct the gremlin problem, they I beleive are painted black not that greyish CZ colour. I both seem to come with beaver barf and both are interchangeable with parts.

Other then that you may wanna wait and see what the csa is like when they do come out.

WoW!
Apples and oranges if you know the internals of the two rifles.
CSA thicker side walls, side optic mount, diffent finish and also some aftermarket parts have been reported issues with certain models. These are just some of the differances.
CZ well the early model's with the thicker trigger bar are also different than the new model's that no longer have the trigger bar indent were the mag release lever is. Also the internals are very different than the CSA model.
So for the almost question ya I would agree from a looks perspective but functionality they are two different beast's.
Also bfiles the trigger mech on the FSN models do not have the gremlin and are the best out of the bunch as per trigger are concerned in my opinoin. Although the finish on the CSA's are the nicest and the CZ's are still the most after market friendly and widely availible in Canada for non-restricted fun.
;)

So the CSA's are better than the CZ's? Just for the gremlin fix, is it worth the extra $$$? It sounds like there are other benefits to the CSA's. I know the FSN's were sold out in minutes, so...

That's up to you, but you should know that only a small percentage of CZs have the gremlin. I own a couple and have never had an issue. From what I've read from the guys here, I'm not the only one who has perfect rifles.

Satain, did you say the CSA has a side rail mount built in? Didn't know that. That would make it worth the extra couple hundred to me.

A few of the FSN's are in stock although like I said before there finish is not the greatest but mechanicaly they are the nicest I have tried.

The CSA are worth the extra bux if you want all the add on's like a posp scope and a tabbed bolt carrier with a nice finish. Now the ones I have seen were from the old batch that Wolverine was importing in. As for the North Sylva ones I have yet to try them. Maybe thats why they dropped the price by a $100 because of no side mount. Although if you are worried about the finish Arma-Coat does sell the non-restrited ones pre-finished to the color you like and as for the "gremlin" just don't ride the trigger. Squeeze and let go.

this might help , go to the bottom of the first post , the VZ58 family .

http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=603359

you will note that the CZ and the CSA dont really make the same product so if you want a non-res in 7.62 then you have to go with CZ but if you want one in 5.56 then its CSA, no choice.

now, if you want something in the 11-12" barrel then forget CZ , now you have CSA vs. FSN , but FSN has that nice front sight that doesnt comes in CSA, when then how about even shorter barrel , then CSA rule this part of the VZ world .

see what i mean , all 3 manufacturer dont really make the same products , maybe the closes is CZ to FSN in the 16" barrel but the similarity end after the barrel and furniture.

alots to choose from, CZ offers 2 models, CZH2003 no longer offer 2, FSN 3 and CSA offers the greatest selection of 5 and in two calibers therefore more cost for a smaller company.

Oh sorry I thought you meant non-restricted 7.62x39 CSA. Take a look at the north sylva thread in the dealer section or what have you.

They just posted new pics of the .223 non restricted CSA rifles.

Satain, you are right as I just took a closer look at my CSA to Cz. The CSA looks much better on the inside compared to the CZ. All around CSA gets my vote, but again you cant beat time tested CZ's.
