So purchased a CZ858 with the B&T magwell adapter so it can accept the XCR 7.62x39 10rnd mags from Wolverine supply. The mag adapter was installed by Wolverine supply.
I took the rifle out to the range today and this set up does not work at all. the rounds do not load properly, not even close. i don't know who or how they think this set up works but this rifle and mag adapter is total crap. Anyone else have this same problem? Should these rifles not be tested before being sold!!?? I would not recommend this product to anyone. Stick with the original CZ858 mags for these rifles and stay away from the B&T mag adapter from Wolverine supply.

And I was just thinking about getting the adaptor too! what kind of ammo were you using? They test before shipping so maybe that was the issue...

7.62x39 it should not matter what kind of ammo. Besides i tried the Hornady, cheq surplu, and the norinco stuff. It wasn't a small issue it was the fact that it was not even close to loading a round in the chamber or even stripping a round out of the mag it would just drive the round into the front of the mag. I did manage to manipulate a round out of the mag and into the chamber but the degree and angle of the round just binded up in the mag. Just a complete disaster.

so it sounds like this is more of a mag problem, then the rifle or adapter being crap. Try a new mag.

Yes it does matter what kind of ammo as the CZ is made for surplus. If you put factory ammo in it then you can start to see problems arise.

What? Your saying cz858 only works with surplus ammo????
I thought the only difference between surplus and non corrosive ammo is that surplus ammo is corrosive and require alot more cleaning?

your statement is false .. New factory FMJ ammo should run even better and longer between cleaning than old surplus steel case lacquer coated stuff, The only new stuff that might give you feeding issues are hollow points or soft points .. I have shot thousands of rounds of new production MFS , Hornady , winchester ect. never a problem in my 858.

Sounds like your rifle is having issues or you need to do more shooting and less typing :D

HAHAHAH, chooch. That is what I was trying to say. New "factory" hunting ammo has given lots of people problems, but I guess I have no idea on the cz platform of rifles. Take a look back as I can see you are new to this site and there are lots of threads of people having problems shooting none milsurp ammo. Try the search function first!!!!!

My restricted cz hates anything but surplus ammo, not a statement thats a fact!!!!!!!!

and what do more shooting between 4 different guns????!!!?!?!?!?!(Thatsn just the cz collection);)

I live on a 300 acre farm with too much time on my hands .. Im guessing you live in a apartment in downtown Toronto? you scream city boy :D.. I would be willing to bet i have a higher round count on my CZs in the last 10 years than you .. But your rifles may work different than mine.. I have seen alot of problems at the local range with those CSA compacts due to the cut down gas system.
