CZ858 Windage - all the way left - still shoots left

Hi all,

CZ858 shoots left, even with the windage pushed all the way left. The site pin could probably go another 2mm left but this seems odd. I've had others shoot to rule out how I site.

Anyone have this problem or have a solution?

Is the front sight canted?

If you have a muzzle brake on, take it off and try it again. The bullets could be striking the brake when they leave the muzzle.
 
Hey - dave is my friend.

he doesnt have a brake. Gun came like this when he got it.

we were thinking the front sight was off level with the rest of the gun...but we got a small level out and leveled the reciever and sight seems pretty much bang on.

??
 
Groups are tight - and can hit a 12" gong at 200yards 4 outa 5 times. Just have to aim off of it to the right.

As for warrenty - he got it used last year from a fellow gun nut.

Its just way more noticible at 100-200 yards. On the action range - don't notice at all.
 
How far left ( approx ) is it hitting at 50 yards aiming at the center of target? Or did you try zeroing at 100 right off the ?
 
I've removed a couple FSPH's from cz58's (a major PITA) and I've noticed that upon re-installing, there is movement in the FSPH even with rivets inserted.

To the OP: Has your FSPH ever been removed? If it has, I suspect the FSPH is canted.
 
Maybe I'm missing something here but if you want the point of impact to move to the right you need to move the rear sight to the right not left.

Ok I was missing something I forgot windage is done on the front sight with the 858's...:)

I guess you could file the rear notch a bit if it's only a few inches or so off at 100yards
 
Did you look inside the barrel with a white piece of paper at the end of the chamber?
Doest it look concentric or is it bent? some high-end barrel makers like Lothar Walther have barrel inspectors that can detect the slightest bend in a barrel and correct that curve with very simple tools.

Other alternative would be putting the barrel in a lathe to see if its bent slightly, and pull on the barrel to streighten it.
