Anyone have experience on the CZ97? Pros or cons. I own a CZ Shadow and love it but I really like the 97. Price is great, and, as you can all relate to the fact that you can't own just one gun, so feel free to state your opinions.
Thanks

The big .45 won't disappoint. They are beautiful guns and very accurate. The frame is large with a long trigger pull so it's definitely a gun for those with larger hands.

Try before you buy.

Unless you have oversized hands, do not proceed with purchase.

Other than that qualification, this is an excellent gun.

Thinking about getting one also. The size is okay for me and the price is good as well. May just have to snag one.

Had one briefly and sold to a friend with giant freak hands. I had no problem with the grip size (slightly larger than 1911) and was very impressed with the accuracy. When he holds a 1911 you hardly see the gun but the CZ fit him much better.

Bit of a love/hate relationship with mine. I have big hands so it fits me like a dream, especially after I replaced the OEM grips with some very pretty Karl Nill laminate ones. The gun is ridiculously accurate, and recoil is very very mild, most 9mms I've shot were snappier.

Mechanically speaking, I've had problems of late. I get consistent FTF's where the bullet nosedives into the bottom of the feed ramp. This is apparently a very common problem with the 97b. I think my issue might actually be a magazine problem, but with only two, and .45's costing what they do it's hard to be sure. Need to pick up a couple more and run a few tests to see what's up. Maybe a feed ramp polishing job too. :( this is with 230gr FMJ's, which are supposed to work well in the 97b.

Accessories are tough to find as its not a common gun.

Overall I absolutely love shooting it, and would recommend it highly. Just make sure you run it hard for a bit and confirm there are no feed issues while it's still under warranty.

Never fired one but played around with one during another purchase. It felt super comfortable. My hands arent massive and it seemed alright. It is a big gun though. Its not small and its not trying to be.

Had one and thought it fit well (large hands) but couldn't shoot it straight. Felt off balance when recoiling (developed a flinch-yet I can shoot full bore 357mag and 40cal no problem)... sold it after 200 rounds. Shoot one before you buy. I didn't like mine. Everything is a personal decision, what works for one may not for another. Trial and error.

I like the Sig ergonomics better than CZ, sold my CZ97 and 75. Have 2 Sig226's and a 220 on the way.

Personally if I would purchase a 45 it would be a Sig220, HK45 or a good 1911.

General consensus is that it's a good pistol. Not sure why I couldn't shoot it worth sh!t, a little sad that I didn't try harder to see what the problem was. Oh well. I like my Sigs way better anyway.

Thanks guys for all your help. Could not resist and went and bought it. All i need to do now is wait for the ATT to bring it home. Since I live in Quebec, that will probably take a month or more. Don't you just love it!
