I saw id64's pictures the other day and stumbled across this gem on the net

Got me thinking this might be my next pistol purchase. From the little I've gathered it sounds like a large but accurate gun. I'd like to handle one but it doesn't look like anyone local has stock.

From guys who've had them what is the consensus on this pistol?

I will let you know when i am allowed to shoot it, still waiting for att, but i can tell you its not the huge pistol people keep saying it is. I got to handle it at my local club and its nice fit for me even with my small hands.
As for accuracy, from everything i have read and from talking to the guys at the club they love it and cant fault it for accuracy.

I am not a fan of CZs pistols at all but the 82 and the 97 are the only ones I would even consider.

Most (everyone in the world except me??) people love CZs and the 97 is no exception as I hear good things about them and regularly hear them recommended as an alternative to 1911s.

The grip is larger than the cz75. You'll need med/large hands. Nice guns, you'll like it. Has a more forceful recoil than you expect though...

hmmm...the recoil part is interesting since I see Tanfoglio makes a version of this in 10mm. Wonder how that would snap?

I've always wanted something in 10mm. Maybe I could kill two birds with one stone.

I have med size hand and I handled a 97 for a bit while doing the paperwork on another purchase. Damn it felt good!! While it is big its shaped nice you don't need massive hands to get a comfortable grip on it. Oh and that green 97 made me pop a semi.......god damn is that ever ###y.

While 75 is excellent firearm I heard some mixed reviews about this model.
Feeding issues, broken parts...but very accurate. I think that it's too big to be popular. Not much chance to stand against M&P 45 in terms of popularity, so the market for this gun will be always very limited.

I know of guys that claim superb accuracy and reliability. The grip is a little big, but unless you have really small hands its something you can get used to. If the CZ aluminum grips fit, that would be a way to slim the grip down some; it works well on the Tactical Sport. I am considering one in the future, it would make a great target pistol. Plus I love CZ's!

I handled 97 a few times and while the grip is a bit larger than on 75, it still fits me well.

I'm not a huge .45 fan so only had 5 guns in that caliber, but 97 is a gun I always had an interested in. One day I'll probably get it.

I really liked mine. This is a picture of the very first mag thru it at 15m. I was very impressed.
I'm not a huge fan of .45 or I would still have it.

this is one of my first targets, after I purchased my CZ 97 in "glossy blue".

As others stated already, it's a big handgun (you need big hands), however it is very accurate.

Most definitely a keeper ... :D

CZCustom has aluminum grips for the 97B on their website.
