Now that some of you have fired thousands of rounds of this stuff. I believe it's steel cored, steel jacketed copper washed ammo.
Have any checked the barrel for wear and tear?
How accurate is this stuff compared to others?
Should I be concerned about shooting it in my properly throated .308 barrel aka Ruger 77 type barrel/chamber.

Although the Czech stuff is cheap, but how long before an average non-chromed bore will last before I re-barrel.

BTW, I know it's corrosive and don't care about that. That's easily cleaned.
Just wondering the cost of reloading 1200 rds than just buying a case of Czech surplus.
This will be shot in bolt action rifles.

Buy a case, it calculates out to less than 30 cents a shot. By the time you buy all the loading equipment, it comes out to the price of a case as well. I don't know about wear as my bore is chromed (I prefer Russian over Czech for that reason)

Good luck

I'd be concerned. If it chambers, and you're REALLY lucky, you just might only need to rebarrel after that first shot. Those 7.62x39 bullets are 0.3105" in diameter and .308 bullets are just that, 0.308" in diameter.

I might be missing something here...

Yes, I've fired some Czech surplus in the gun as the reamer I had made up essentially is throated for it to fire in a .308 barrel. No problems so far. It's chrome moly Shaw .308 barrel I chambered and screwed on a bubba'd Spanish Mauser.

Just curious as to wear on non chromed barrels and accuracy reports.

True,.... problem is, he says he has a M77. I never knew they chambered for 7.62x39
Yes, they once did.

Also, FWIW:

Dear Mr. Phelps,

Thank you for your inquiry at www.GalleryofGuns.com!

Ruger's groove diameter for the 7.62X39 caliber cartridge for either the Mini-30 or model 77's is .3100 - .3115 according to their engineering dedpartment. This is a compromise diameter designed to shoot either the .308 or .313 diameter ammo
that is available.

A .311 diameter bullet would be my choice for handloading applications if available.

I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
