HI everyone,

i'm a new sks ownwer.
I search sks ammo. I found the same ammo in quebec shop, is czech military surplus 1200 rounds case in 7.62x39

the production date is 1993/08/05
my questions is:

is 1993 ammo too old?
how many time can i conserve this ammo in proper condition, 1993 at 2010, already 17 years old?

do you know more recent military surplus in the market?
do you have recent military ammo? (2000-2010)

thank to everyone for your reponse, i would the best military surplus avaible in the market
thank

For the most part, stored correctly, ammo will last decades. Your ammo is fine.

As for other sources of surplus x39, you're out of luck. The Czech is about it for the moment.

90's ammo is recent. The vast majority of the CZ ammo was from the early 70's.

I have no problem shooting x39 from the 40's, especially if it is sealed.

i have Czech surplus ammo from the 1940s that works perfect but remember most of the czech surplus ammo is corrosive so remember to clean your barrel and gas system with windex or hoppes 9 after every use

No worries mr. the_drum. This is not a carton of eggs we're dealing with it's commie stockpiled WWIII / EOTW contingency ammo.

Kept in a dry, vibration free environment under stable temperature conditions it'll long outlast you.
