Typical Post war Czech K98 export.

It is made with either a recycled German Wartime receiver that has been scrubbed and proofed, but more likely was a new made Czech Brno receiver that was scrubbed of the Rampart Lion. They used up all the German WW2 parts they had, hence all the little birdies.... Waffen Werke Brunn, Brunn, (ie: dot) turned back into CZ (Ceska Zbrojovka) after the war. There was also Waffen Werke Brunn, Bystrica, which was the German "dou" plant during the war.

Sold to Israel and other Middle Eastern countries.

The Czechs were really equal opportunity merchants of death! ;)

Sporterized, that rifle is worth $150 IMHO.

Very nice that it has a German stamped triggerguard though... many have the post war Czech stamped "Winter" triggerguard.

Like Desert Fox says, scrubbed Czech k98 for export built post WW2, then stock was bubba'd here. Personally I think $150-$200 if the bore is excellent as many were. Good shooters though. The WaA marked parts are a bonus especially if you are into restoring German K98's.

The fourm members are correct. Post war Czech finished or produced reciever finished off with left over German parts. Either the reciever had the Czech Lion (ground before export to hide the origin) or may have had German markings which were ground.

Lot's of good late war K98 parts on this piece, excellent for a Kriegsmodell restoration (SVW contracted late war stamped trigger guard, late war mag plate, late war stamped rear and, late war sock with the take down hole on the butt plate.

In some ways you might be able to make more for parts. I would buy trigger guard, magazine plate, butt and rear band off you for sure.
