Czech Small Arms

Hey, Dan, I sent you a message the other day re a CSA shorty with a broken piston. If there's a better way to reach you than a PM to North Silva, let me know.

There's a thread relating to the broken piston in the Red Rifles forum. Here are a couple of additional photos of the piston. Just waiting to hear back on what I need to do to get a replacement piston. Thanks in advance.

Are there any plans to supply smaller mags for the VZ58? 10 or 20 round pinned mags would be a lot handier than the 30 round ones.

I'm not aware of any plans. CSA routinely manufacturers 10 round magazines for the US market and they can supply them to the Canadian market too. This would be a question for North Sylva.

Thanks,
Dan

Good photos - thanks. The best way to contact me is by e-mail: dan.brown@csa.co.cz Please send an e-mail to me with serial number and shipping information for a gas piston replacement. I will contact North Sylva for the replacement. I apologize for the problem.

Just to confirm, as guest of North Sylva Co., I am only allowed to post in the North Sylva Co. forum. If there are any questions, feel free to ask them in this section and I will respond to them.

I've been in Europe for almost a week now - I helped out at the CSA booth at the IWA Show in Germany. I'm currently in the Czech Republic visiting the factory and shooting video - my schedule continues to be hectic and I'm not on my computer regularly during this visit. When you send an e-mail to me, please give me some time to reply.

I'll be back home Tuesday, March 20. After a few days of being home, my schedule should slowly return to normal.

Thanks,
Dan

Hey Dan,

Were the minor differences in CSA mags and Surplus Vz58 mags (mag catch) resolved?

And here I thought it was just me....

After getting stuck with a "hey, the mag won't come out..." on a tac reload with a student, I now check all my mags, in the CSA platforms..
This was the second time- first was with my 11.5, doing a pre range trip check....should have done the same w/ the 7.5...
As long as you have the punches and the kit, pulling the mag release isn't a big deal- it's when you leave the tools at home, that it really sucks.

Nothing a bit of "file me now" won't cure, but you do need to be diligent in checking ALL the mags you'll run in the CSA models...

Most work, but the ONE that won't, blows dead goats....

Overall, fantastic guns, and my 7.5, with the Dlask FH (blew up the first batch of red dots I mounted...) is my go to VZ; looking forward to running it on the Sonny Puzikas course in Abby, in a couple a weeks.

Oh yeah Puzkias will rock!

Hey Doc, were you the guy at the TR course in northern alberta, with everything on your shotgun but the kitchen sink? ;)

Yeah baby..that was me...!
Drove all the way up there, SPECIFICALLY for all that s** and abuse..
Missed out out he FR/AFR timeline, but NO WAY was I gonna miss the shotgun..

She's runnin' fine, thank you very much; 8000 rnds+, and still pumpin', baby..

Welcome to CGN Dan.

I have a question regarding the non-restricted version of the CSA VZ-58 7.62x39. How hard would it be to chrome line the barrels for the non-restricted version? I have frequented these forums regularly over the last year, or so, and I have found a large number of CGN'ers discussing this with great interest. We have a lot of corrosive surplus ammo in Canada, and it would be awesome if the barrel could be made to have a chrome lining. I'm sure that there would be many that would jump on this in an instant. In fact, this is the only thing preventing me from buying a non-restricted vz-58. Mainly cause I know I will only be feeding it corrosives. IMO, it would be well worth the price increase.

Will we be able to order a thread locking nut for the barrel and a bayonet for it?

Is this questions for me? If so, I'm unsure of your question?

Just to confirm, if you're looking for a specific product that is not offered in Canada - that is a question for North Sylva Co. Future product availability in Canada is not something I will know about.

Thanks,

Dan
