D Alston

A friend has a percussion rifle.The name on the side of the lock is D.Alston.Can anyone shed some light on the history of this rifle?

I've only seen a picture.The rifle may be a conversion.

I couldn't find him in Gardner. I think you would have to post photos to even guess the country of origin

There was a gun barrel maker named H. Alston that was established in Birmingham in 1839. His shop was at 71 Baggot Street. I couldn't find anything on a D. Alston.
