D-Day June 6, 1944

I was hoping that someone would start a thread to remember all those that fought so hard to defend our freedoms.

My own father went ashore on D-day + 10 (that is 10 days later).
I wish I had taken the time to write down more of the details of his time overseas, while he was still with us.

Thanks Dad.

My late father was wth the Winnipeg Rifles and in the first wave that hit Juno beach on D-day. I remember many of the stories he told me but I wish I'd wrote them down. We still have this large panoramic picture of the Winnipeg rifles when they were stationed in England. I miss my dad, I was so proud of him.

They gave us the opportunity to be free and discuss our differences.

My thanks as well for their sacrifice.
This forum wouldn't be the same in German with the Nazi's for moderators....
