D4064

I did a post with comparisons. I'll see if I can find it. With my batch from last year it's very close in burn rate and charge to standard 4064 loads in my 308 loads.

I do a calibration to Quick Load's IMR4064 to match my measured results from using the same charge with D4064 and I didn't make any changes to the burn rate as the difference was minimal. The only major difference was the case capacity as the D4064 from canam is SSC (Super Short Cut) and therefore more dense in the case. It's possible to fit a larger charge of D4064SSC in a given case when compared to IMR4064.

I have found it tracks about as well as you could hope with the velocities and charges listed for IMR-4064 on Hodgson's website as far as .308 service rifle loads go. It is also apparently extremely consistent with it's often single digit SDs. I have never had a powder seem to be so consistent especially considering aside from taking pride in what I was doing I didn't sort or weigh anything and was using bulk components.
