DA Cougar project is DONE!!!

Yes, there is something wrong when we have Chevies and Fords built right here in Canada, by Canadian families competing against that Hyundai. The time when people cared and saw a difference is fading, sadly. But, enough of that nobody listens down south, few in the cities care.

And one Holland & Holland, among other fine arms. None of them Chinese. I'm not old, but it seems I'm still a dying breed.

Canadians and Americans work, own and run Toyota, Hyundai, and other Chinese related businesses in their own countries. Parts/supply companies, I mean it's huge the number of Canadians and Americans employed by these businesses.

Hundreds of things in your own home were made in China or have parts/products from China in them.

Sorry for the hijack to the OP. No more on this from me.

Congrats to you (no pun intend) has some of the World's best firearm maker's gun in your collection.

You sounds like a very educated person and so do many of us here however, not everyone is willing (or afford) to spend that kind of money on a single firearm purchase there might be other things in their priority list where to spend their hard earn money.

Besides the money issue there might be others prefer to modify / customize their firearm of their choice to their needs whether straightly for esthetic reason or convenience, person A owns a Dominion Arms with all the modification might ended up spending more money than person B who bought a stock Remington.

It is about passion or that person's desire what to so to his or her firearm, besides if I have a choice I rather mess up with a $500 gun and not put a surgical knife to a $5000 equipment and find out I screw up.

I do see your point of copying others design as stealing however if you look at today's world in all consumer products every single manufacturer of any product is copying their competitor's design and look for areas where improvement can be made to promote their products.

You have made your point and I would not commend on your post however, I would not criticize on what firearm other people should or should not be buying due to my personal preferences.

Just my two cents.

I just wanted to chime in with a related topic... just because of the bashing of any made in China goods.

I get a lot of flak for having a Taurus 1911 and Tasco red dot. Guys who buy nothing short of SIG/Kimber 1911s and Eotech sights look down on me for cheaping out in these areas... except these guys drive cars that are 15 years old and wear the same clothes and baseball caps everyday. I wear nice clothes and drive a new car. What I'm getting at is that with the exception of millionaires, everyone comprises somewhere. Unless you are fortunate enough to be able to afford the most expensive everything, no one should be bashed for owning a made in China gun (or anything else).

It's all dead simple, you're buying a ripoff of somebody's legitimate product, from a Chinese company. Any idea how pissed Joseph Dlask is he can't put out a popular product with more than months to a year's lead before lower quality, cheaper versions are pushing him under in his own design? How about Remington, who actually designed half the crap being plagiarized? If you don't think buying a couple Chinese guns makes a difference, might as well not vote either. The crazy part is it's not like the originals aren't in production either, Remingtons are available anywhere. As for other nations' makes, Brazil, Italy, Germany are all democracies last I checked, China, not so much. So, seeing as this is an open forum to members, you bet I'll comment and that's why.

OP Beautiful scattergun i love it.

As for you ardent....

Mabe you're rich and can afford to buy yourself a $3000 AR or a $1500 1911 or a $2000 O/U etc etc. But I'm Not rich. I can't afford to buy the most expensive top of the line gear. I would love to be able to afford it, but it just isn't happening anytime soon.

Shooting sports are NOT cheap. However Norinco/DA fills a need for INEXPENSIVE (not cheap) firearms for people like myself who love the sports but can't afford the top end guns. They also serve a a good platform for modificatons such as what the OP has done. If the OP screwed up his bild somehow, well he screwed up a $300-400 gun. Less than half the price of an 1100. they are great for tinkering and hot rodding.

As for you're North american made rederick... where to start. Just becasue it's made in NA doesn't make it better. Where it's made has nothing to do with it. it's HOW it's made. Some chinese stuff is made better than north american stuff and vice versa. Our ecomony is based on companies having the be competitive. They need to offer something no one else has in order to stay in business. Norinco does this by having a lower price point. Others are innovative or offer exceptional warrenties or a million other gimicks to set them apart from the competition.

I judge all firearms based on performance, not the MADE IN _______ engraved on the side.

So buying a British made Holland & Holland supported Canadian families how?

you are welcome to your opinion, but pardon me if i dont shed a tear for Joseph Dlask while the chamber of my $300 Dlask barrel looks like it was cut by an Afghan in a cave. incidentally, the chamber on my $300 870 clone Grizzly is smooth as glass.

if theres one thing ive learned from the DA Grizzly (and i cant speak for the Outlaw, Backpacker, etc since ive only owned Grizzlies), its that the quality/materials that US gun manufacturers foist on buyers in the budget gun segment is unacceptable. there is no reason we should be accepting the sh*tty finish and plastic parts on current models of 870 Express for >$400. yes, they are budget guns but there is no reason that we should settle for abominations like the Remington 710/770.

Very valid point / prove.

By the way, what camera were you using and are you a photographer by profession?

Did you use any flash? Direct or bounch?

These pics looks really nice and professional!;)

^they were taken on a mat indoors, in front of the sliding glass door in winter (natural light is always best). camera was an Olympus e410 - a really good value in an affordable DSLR. mine just turned over its 100,000th photo

im not a photographer but i fluke off a halfdecent photo now and then.

Nice!

I have a G11 and some accessories (cheap wide lens and adapter from egay and a 430 EX II) but never was able to shoot pics as nice as yours:p

May be I am just not a shooter (I think I can do better on a trigger than a shutter LOL).

Anyway, very impressive pics you've taken I think I need to take some photography course because I can post pics here again LOL.
