My brother got his new DA Griz 12.5, ordered in ~ FEB 2013. I ordered mine from the last shipment..im guessing November 2011 as my vid is here a month later unboxing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq5_bkXeV8Y
Some SIDE BY SIDE photos for ya'll.
Mine is the one with the dog-chain and hockey tape hanging off of it (my high-tech tactical sling) on the left.
MINE (2011 shipment, left) has had 2 yrs of use with no cleaning other than bore, not much shells downrange but 100s of hours walking in the woods with lots of WD40 on it B4 each trip (oily metal wont rust when it rains/snows/condensates
Plenty of pine needles and grime!
HIS (2013 shipment, right) is fresh out of the box, no dirt nor grime, some oil from shipping

yup, the one with the pine needle on it is mine...2011 shipment... had those things all through the gun, even behind the trigger group
TRIGGER GROUP 2013 shipment is polymer. I have no idea if this is a bad thing or not or how all my wd40/gun oil would interact with it. Other's will fill u in on that. It seems the "real" 870s have plastic..er..poly TGs too and they are decent enough from the reviews I've looked at.

2011 one is on the left...aka your right, with dog chain and tape on it.
BOTH GUNS SMOOTH BORE NO SCREW IN CHOKES, NO CHOKE.
[/IMG]
2013 LEFT, 2011 RIGHT
2013 shipment has many polymer components inside the trigger group. 2011 seems to be mostly if not entirely metal. Remember the 2013 (left) is new, one on right is grimy (mine, 2011) and unclean (2 yrs use and no cleaning lol).
2011 is the one on the right (by screwdriver)
2013 is the one on the far left
GUNS BOTH CLEANED, OILED (CLP) (SOAKED!!), AND REASSEMBLED

The one with the fancy new light and pump is the 2013 shipment.
NOTE: Any 1 inch light seems to fit. We have a dollarama (Canadian Tire?) LED light in here. It fit snug but a little bit of black electrical tape would make it firm. The light it came with takes 2 bats (not included). Quote from my brother "the flashlight for my grizzly forend grip takes two CR123 batteries. They are 3V each making it a 6V light" This 6v light snaps in so it'd never fall out.
He likely wont use the 6V one as there is a wattage rule for hunting...and though he isn't hunting its better to be safe than sorry so the dinky low voltage flashlight will likely be a keeper. (NS laws....)http://nslegislature.ca/legc/statutes/wildlife.htm

Yeah, thats my living room table with a towel over it! "I is redneckz"!
PS: guns, forend, 6V flashlight etc purchased at Canada Ammo
