Hi, today I de-assembled my DA Grizzly (first shotgun) and when I put it back together I was left with one piece. I have no idea where it goes. I don't see it in assembly videos on youtube and the shotgun seems to work perfectly fine (without shooting it).

Anyone know what it is? Thanks.

As others have said, between the receiver and the stock. I recall reading somewhere that piece does serve a purpose which is to reduce strain on the stock (to reduce the chances of the stock cracking). I can't remember where I read that though, it was in a manual or something and not just from some random Interwebs expert. I'll source it if I remember.

Correct. It keeps the outer edges of the stock from taking recoil and chipping off pieces of wood.

Now I know what it does exactly, thanks guys. I knew it was a spacer but had no clue of the real purpose for it and always wonder.
