Doing my first take down and clean for my DA grizzly 12.5". Inside the magazines spring retainer cap there's a straight plastic piece 3 inches long. Is that to keep the spring straight, or to limit the capacity? Wondering if it's needed or not.

Thanks!

Update, I just left it out. Everything works fine with my dummy rounds I was using to function test everything.
On a side note overall I'm impressed with the quality, I wasn't sure what it would be like. The S&J jumbo safety and follower work/fit perfectly too which is nice.

waterfowl hunting shot limiter.

In other provinces; You will need that piece of plastic only if/when you are hunting birds.

In Ontario (where you live); You need to have the plastic installed any time you are shooting outside of a range.

If you are in the bush with a shotgun in Ontario; You are considered to be hunting.
And hunting (anything) with a shotgun in Ontario means 2+1 capacity in your shotgun.

The good news; If you're only shooting at a range; There's no capacity limit whatsoever for a pump shotgun.

Thanks CanAm. I'm sure I'll be visiting your site soon, you guys have been bad for my credit card lately!

Ah that's something I didn't know. I use my toys at the range so I haven't unintentionally broken that rule thankfully. I knew the restriction for hunting but I didn't know all the time it was required here. Another rule to add to the list of things that don't really make sense.
