I've had this bolt release sitting on the workbench for quite a while now waiting to get my Socom sorted out. With everything sorted, I got all sweaty thinking about the install because of all the stories about busted punches, scratched receivers, etc. So I grab a 3/32 punch give it a few little taps and it slides out no problem! WTF says I. But why complain?!
Also noted that they are using a solid pin now. It's in there good, but comes out without a struggle or cussin'. All good. At least it is easier that it otherwise could have been.
Then I go to install the M14 Medic enhanced bolt release, and discover this one appears to be made out of spec:
This is apparently the best 6 months EVER for me to order gun parts and get them all out of spec! Grrrr. But no big deal, sent an email to the folks at Magwedge, I'm sure I'll have a replacement in short order.
Just spreading the news that the release comes out easy now! Enjoy!
