bought my first AR about a month and a half ago, first time out with it I was having trigger reset problems, the trigger would not reset after cycling, but could be physically pushed forward from behind to reset. Some members suggested that a spring could be installed incorrectly in the trigger group. Finally got a chance to get it in to our friend who is a local gunsmith, and sure enough, that was the case. He installed new Colt springs in the trigger group and we got a chance to take it out yesterday. Worked awesome!! We put about 150 rounds down range with it, no problems whatsoever and quite accurate :)
I installed a Vortex Strikefire on it last week, and for the first time ever, I dialled in a scope, it was honestly much easier than I was expecting. What a fun little gun to play with, the wife loved it ( that means a second AR for sure!) and even my 70 year old father in law had a blast with it. Now that we have experienced a well running AR, I can see what the attraction is, well worth the money for the fun, the only problem is now I want to " spruce" it up a bit, lol, and that's gonna cost me :)

Good to hear. My Norinco was a great starter rifle to get me into the AR game, but as you've noticed, it's just a gateway drug. After playing with mine for a few months, I found a deal on an Armalite and "upgraded".

For what it's worth, I never had any spec issues when I changed parts, so you should be okay when it comes to sprucing yours up.

Resist the temptation to spruce it up. You have a nice lightweight carbine that will serve you well as is. Any doodads will only make it heavier and take away from it IMO.

About all that's needed is nice light two point sling, BUIS and possibly a light. Anything else is just fluff.

Lol, good advice, the only thing I would really like to change is the buttstock, I need a bit thicker cushion for the shoulder, and maybe some type of magpul forward grip, one of the stubby ones perhaps!

They don't call them Lego guns for nothing. Enjoy sprucing it up as much as you want...Everything you put on it, you can take off and/or change later. Half the fun of an AR for me is changing up the configuration from time to time. The other half is using it as it was meant to be used...so if you get the chance to get out there and do some action/CQB/multigun matches with it, then you can see what it can really do. Enjoy!

Welcome to the dark side as you can now see the attraction of the AR. It's all about fun and this black rifle sure can supply tons of that.

If you like iron sights, take a good look at the 20 inch DA556 too.
Lightweight, and accurate to longer distances than the 14.5 inch version, only not so furniture or optic friendly.
I did say you have to like iron sghts right.

If you prefer to play with optics, Lever Arms had a C7A2 clone for just a bit more money than Canada Ammo.
Flat top from the get go.

The DA range is a lot of fun and gets more folks involved for sure.

I would not suggest tinkering with it. I had a Norinco cqa and it was a basic minute of man rifle. It worked well out of the box and never ever caused me any problems and would eat any ammo i fed it. Leave as is and keep it around. They retain value quite well. I regret selling mine. I finally saved enough to get a Colt IUR and its the only rifle as reliable as my old Norinco.

You can get a slip on recoil pad for your buttstock.
Any idea where I can find one, I have been looking for a Limbsaver snap on AR15 pad, but having a hell of a time finding a sponsor that carries them? I found some on Amazon, but have never bought off there before. I would like to deal with a CGN sponsor if possible?
