Dlask's site has a bunch of DAC 394 frames, slide, and parts kit for $200

When I called them I was told these are steel frames.

Anyone have an idea of whats really involved with fit and finishing a new frame with parts?

For 200 bucks it seems to be a pretty decent deal.

Never owned one but the general remarks of the original kit was that quite a bit of fitted was required.

Haven't heard much about the kits for a few years.

Interesting, it looks like they have now machined the frames and hence, the frames are registered.

Several years ago they were selling the "kit" with a frame that was just a partially machined forging, and required a lot of machining, including rails etc. At that time the "frame" was not registered because it required many hours of precision machining to complete.

I have actually heard a lot of good things about them as far as 'clones' go.
For $200, who cares if I have to put it together and attend to some minor fitting. Google some DAC forums and check it out.

I found a nice exploded view here if anyone is interested.

This exploded view is based off a Sig 228 so this diagram should work.
I picked one up today, I'll post pics and a range report once I get everything put together.

Well I just got the 2340, but the Dlask gun is calling me as well, along with an NP-58. Sig madness, if it looks, smells and taste like a Sig you must have it.

I ordered one as well. I figure it will be a fun and educational project. For $200 I don't think you can go wrong, even if there is some fitting to be done. If I can find a P228 armourers manual I should be good to go.
