Daewoo Rifles: Question

Why anyone would buy a gun part made out of 6061 is beyond me. I know it is easy to machine, but expect short life.

Anyone know if the K1A1 is still in active service anywhere (Korea maybe)

6061 T6511 is fine for mounts and most accessories once it is hard anodized.
I make a mount for the Daewoo as well.
Too bad the K1's (at least the ones I have had) weren't drilled and tapped for a scope mount.
