A friend of mine bent the main tube on his vari x 3 scope. Will leupold send him a VX 2 or VX 3 to replace the no longer available vari x 3?
Anyone know?
Thanks

A friend and hunting partner of mine, got a great deal on a 3.5x10 leupold at a gun show a couple of years ago. A while later he realized it was bent. He sent it to leupold's warranty shop but it took so long to get it back, and he needed a scope for a hunting trip, that he traded it to me for a 2x7 leupold. A new scope showed up in time for the following season, I think it was about 10 months later. Good but slow service. I've heard that Ziess is a lot faster.

That'd be the exception, not the rule. I've had 5 day turn around from leupold. Those guys are usually awesome.

Great service there.... I sent them an older, much used but not abused Vari X II in 3-9x40mm that I couldn't get to zero on the bore sighter [ran out of adjustment]. They had it back to me inside of 2 weeks, fully serviced. And also included a little sheet advising the date of manufacture of that scope. And also replaced the scope adjustment caps with new ones [the ones on it had gone a funny plumb color]. Scope adjusted/zeroed fine on the bore sighter when I got it back.

X2, just got one back within two weeks completely redone. Cant ask for better service.

I guess there are bad examples of everything. But I would bet that the majority of Leupold owners would say that the service and warranty is one of the best in the industry.
