After fondling, polishing and worshiping my new loaded SAI M1a for over a month, I finally got to take it out. No 100 yd range was available today so I just decided to go in the woods on my in-laws farm and put a few rds through it at 25 yds. Used Federal (LC13) 7.62 x51 149 gr XM80C. First two were about 10" high from poa, and 4"to the left. Third round fired and failed to extract from the chamber. The bolt was back, and it would not move. ####. Took the mag out, and all of the pieces in the pic below fell out.
This is why so many people don't buy American cars anymore. Attention to detail. SAI knows this is a problem, but yet they keep using these CRAP extractors. This is probably the most expensive gun I will ever buy, ~1700 dollars. For that kind of money you should not get this.
