Damn Savage...why a lack of hinged floorplates?

I like my bolt-gun to have a floorplate hinged, or a detatch magazine (but I would prefer the former)...Savage guns are good looking, decent-priced and apparently accurate as hell...but nooo, a lot of the models I want lack the hinged floorplate...just an internal box..what gives, I thought a DM or floorplate was an industry standard?
 
Some Savages are avail with the floorplate but most are not, the ones I like, are not. I wonder i fit is worth the sacrifice for a great rifle?

I keep hearin about what Remington said about Canadians and it's tragic. :( Does anyone have an exact quote or anythin'? I'd love to take a peek at it.
 
The new models have a detachable mag that sits flush with the bottom of te rifle and has the release recessed under the stock. They look very good and are a lot less of a PITA to seat then the side-release mags.
 
You want cheap you have to give up some features.

Want a hinged floorplate? Move up to a Remington SPS.

The varmint ones are not exactly cheap..

I have a Savage Model 11 in .243 win. that has a detachable mag. Looks good, works great and shoots great. I love it. Its my favorite gun that I own.
Gotta love the accutriger too.

I have a Savage model 110 in 300 win mag that is a few years older that only has the internal mag. Definately not as nice but still a descent gun.
 
What did remington say about Canada?

Savage makes some damn nice guns.. definately going to be my next It hink once I can afford it. in 243 or 270 winchester.

I have Savage 111F in .243 with the blind magazine and I have never had any problems.

Like the other folks say, pretty accurate rifle. Mine is pre-accur-trigger...
 
I got a savage 111FCXN of some combination of letters :) package rifle and scope combo (now has buris rings and elite3200 scope)

300Win Mag, flush detachable mag with the mag release ahead of hte mag and also flush. Synthetic stock with a free floated barrel.

bought it last spring :)
