Damn, that's a big gun (500S&W)

I still can't get my head around a day at the range ending with a 25yr old girl taking a trip to the morgue. Irresponsible or not, the guy who put that cannon in her hands has to wrestle with that day for the rest of his life. The vid you posted demonstrates perfectly how quickly an accident can (and does on occasion) happen.
Sometimes we get complacent with our range tools/toys and forget what they are capable of. This was a reminder to never give the inexperienced a gun that they can't handle, I can't tell you how many times I've seen boy friend hand 90lbs girl friend a 3" 12ga with slugs just for his amusement...it really shouldn't be funny and it certainly isn't responsible.

Amen to all that. What a sad thing to have happen and a sobering reminder to be careful.

Agreed. I posted this as the op lets his girlfriend shoot some of his guns. Ive sold the op two of my guns a 44 mag ( which she handled fine) and a 460V, which she has yet to shoot. I subscribed to the OPs youtube channel so i have seen the videos. I just posted this as a reminder, im sure he is already aware of this just the same. With powerfull guns, i will put one round in, and see how they handle that first, so if they drop it, or it flys out of their hands, no big deal.

A 4inch 500 is a tall order for anybody!! The 8 inch would be bad enough. Now i know chicks can shoot them, there are two on youtube, fateofdestiny and erica from the cory and erica channel. They both shoot double action, and from the vids i see, they both use one round at a time.

Let's see the size of the box too, next to the pistol lol you pumped up this blue box too, and never showed it Laugh2

Accidents absolutely happen, not going to argue that at all. Seeing tools who hand their girlfriends a 12ga with 3" slugs or hand cannons that smack them in the face is a major pet peeve of mine too. I DO let women and guys shoot my hand cannons, and I DO make sure they are able to handle it and it is done safely. I pride myself with being a very safe shooter, and I am strict on safety with my guests, which is something that I have had a few different women tell me that they enjoyed and why they like coming out with me to the range.

I wasn't suggesting you'd do anything less, or anyone who's careful and accountable. I was only speaking to things I've seen at the range first hand. My apologize if you thought the comments were directed toward you.

Just letting everyone know, I've seen stuff like that at the range too and usually step in, I like repeat range visitors/new shooters : )
