Why do oyu have to be soo damn beautiful

http://www.marlinfirearms.com/firearms/xlr/336.asp

Saw that baby at bass pro this morning and had to have her. 900 bucks later I got the lst one they had and now she sits in my safe waiting to be brought to the range :D

P.S.
I'm pretty new to this site so I dont know how to post a picture directly if anybody could explain would be greatly appreciated :)

I like the guide version in 45-70.

But im not too sure I would try to buy another though. Last time I tried buying a Marlin (308mx) turned into a huge fiasco. Iirc the receiver wasn't aligned with the barrel correctly so when they tried to mount the scope it ran out of elevation adjustment. When the staff tried another rifle from the back it had the same issue.

Really ehh, hmmm well all I know about mine is it is beautiful haha :D I was looking at a 44 magnum stainless version on wanstalls not long ago but when I saw this 30-30 on the shelf at bass pro i couldnt resist.

I had one in 35 Remington and it was a gorgeous rifle. I was sad when i got rid of it but it had the "Marlin Jam" thing going on with it. I had heard of Marlins having problems but i figured i would take the gamble and it didn't work out in my favor. I hope yours works out for you.

I'd love to get my hands on a 1895 GBL but no one has any left in stock and from what I've heard Remington/Marlin have ceased production until they can sort out their quality control issues. Hopefully they'll sort themselves out ASAP.

To the OP: congrats on your new purchase! I hope your rifle works great and shoots true.

No worry there Gary wont send you a rifle with defect or problem with it ,i am sure he will operate it so everithing is fine... Good shooting. JP.

I personally inspected both, function fine. Chamber and ejects great, good blueing, decent wood fit. I was going to buy them both but the old lady woulda castrated me more then I am already

I'll have to send her a thank you card HAHAHA!

I'm gonna have to look into it and pick it up before anyone else does. Thanks for the heads up

I'm shying away from the Marems, untill/if they get their $hit together.
Would like a 44mag or a 45/70.
Older ones, from the used market, seems like the best bet.

Yea this is my 8th or 9th marlin. I just have a check list I go through before buying a Remington. And trust me I went through my fare share of Remington's before I settled on this GBL.

There is a ton of great info on marlinowners.com on how to find a decent one. I wouldn't be surprised if marlin goes the way of winchester. Close down for x number of years and re open with and off shore maker and charge an arm in the leg for them.

Dorian Grey:

What do you mean by the marlin jam?

If I dont operate my lever aggressively enough (esspecially on closing the action), i can have trouble with the next round feeding into the action prematurely.
If im deliberate with the function, there is no problems.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I love my Marlin rifles too!
Top to bottom, .44 mag., .45 colt, & .357 mag....

Also have an 1894 in .32 H&R Mag which is also a sweet shooter....

No gate on these, as they load by removing a mag tube from under the barrel.

Nice guns ruffbird, I like that .32....I'm glad you haven't messed them all up with rails, lasers, flashlights, scopes, dots, etc.

Nice guns ruffbird, very nice. Pardon the Winchester 71 that snuck into my lever gun picture:redface: but here are my three Marlins.

It's not as common as they say...but here's a little research about it and a fix.
Take it as it is...I've had no issues with any of my Marlins...knock on wood.
