I read somewhere can't remember where that there was some barrels/shrouds made in the 4.2 inch length for us Canadians for the Dan Wesson model 15 revolvers, does anyone know if they are still available and if so where would I be able to find one?

Hens teeth. They were a thing, I remember seeing DW's on the EE with several barrels and the 4.2 inch was there (I think it was the EE?). I would imagine it would be a tough thing to buy as anyone who has them, likely wouldn't sell that barrel and shroud. Longer ones perhaps, but the Canadian stubby, not likely.

I'm not sure they ever materialized. The new 15 was only available briefly and I only recall seeing them in 6".

take a 6" or 8" barrel and shorten it to 4.3"

if you really think you need the shroud to fit you should be able to shorten a 6"

I have a collection of Dan Wesson's in different cals my 15 s/s has 6" & 15" a few in
Super Mags in 6"& 8" 10" i have never seen or heard of 4.2" barrel & shroud anywhere
here in the US, wouldn't be hard to convert a 6" cut down 4.2"& threaded to fit.
Gary Reeder here in Flagstaff Arizona does cal. conversions on Dan Wesson's
It would cost a bit to get one cut down plus the shipping to Canada if you had
enough people interested in a few, to make the shipping worth while i could
supply him some Std or Heavy barrel #15's to modify and ship to Canada.

the one I seen looked like a custom build. I never seen a factory built 4 1/4" in the original sets.
Never had any of the newer series.
There where quite a few nice pistol packs screwed because some did not want to mess with 12-6 and they surrendered the short barrels.
Most regretted after the fact when they could not buy all the neat small stuff.
Mind you with the stupid regulations then the whole set was 12-6.

When I got my DW 15 it originally came with four of the old “green sheet” certificates and I missed the grandfathering thing by about a month. The RCMP sent me letters about turning in my 2.5 and 4 inch barrels for about 10 years until they said they would come and take the whole set. I turned in the two tubes only and kept the barrel shrouds and barrel nuts and always thought I should get a 4 1/4” with an extended knurled barrel nut but they don’t grow on trees. I guess I will have to find a .357” tube and cut some threads on my lathe. Another project to find time for…

If you have the shroud, I have seen custom barrel made up, It looked OK, You hardly noticed the extra length, but I don't know who did the work

Just wanted to update what I found out.
I thought I might have found a source for the 4.2 inch barrel/shroud but when I finally was able to make contact with them they no longer had any and didn't have any access to any so it looks like the only option I have now is to use a 4 inch shroud and have a custom cut barrel.
If anyone has any other options please let us know, thanks.

I do have a 2" that will be available along with a 4", 6" and 8" - all vent rib. I just need to keep one of the restricted length barrels. They'll all come with a shroud. I've also got numerous front sights and the original Samsonite case that are also available for purchase.
