Just unboxed my Dan Wesson 1911 45 ACP Heritage Classic and i am stunned how tight this pistol is, surely the tightest since my Les Baer, the trigger have a little take up then no creep just break cleanly very lightly ( about 4 pounds estimate), reset is extremely short and positive, front sight is Trijicon and the rear is all black, very nice sight picture...
I repeat myself but this pistol is really tight, no movements whatsoever...
Range review to follow... Many thanks to Steve and ArmsEast for all... JP.

Super rig, Caramel!!! I myself am just amazed at how many GOOD 1911's are on the market today. I was shopping about 2 weeks ago and looked at four models by four different makers - and they all had flawless triggers. They all had excellent fit and finish, and they all had reasonable price tags....

Nice piece... I really don't care for the 1911 platform, but maybe if I bought a nicer one like the OP did, I'd change my mind. Caramel must have a huge vault somewhere to house all his purchases. This DW doesn't look like anything flashy but the quality is there.

I find that to be an ugly 1911 especially for the price, im sure its better in person but from I sit not for me
Congrats on the new gun though.

That is a nice piece of machinery there Caramel, sorry outlander but this is not on the same level of a SAM and don't get me wrong SAM is a nice pistol but you cannot compare the 2 when it comes to quality of frankly every part.

As tight as your Les B ? Wow! The rear slide -frame pic looks really clean with no spaces anywhere. Nice.

That is an ugly ass 1911 considering what it's worth.

If you're going to spend that kind of money, atleast get something worthwhile to look at. There's no point in getting a $2000-a-night hooker if she looks like she fell off a potato truck, unless that's your thing. ;)

There is a lot more that meet the eye, anytimes, anywere, the outside apparence is really at the end of the spectra when i buy an item, a whorty reputation and a good pedigree are beautifull to my eye... JP

If you're buying 1911's based on their looks you're going to be disappointed in the long run. the DW's are amazing for the price. A small production shop that bridges the gap between mass production and custom. At almost a grand less then a Wilson or a Nighthawk, Dan Wessons definitely punch above their weight. If you want prettier, spend a few more bucks and look at their Valor line. The heritage is their bare bones gun. All the quality without paying extra for something fancy. Some people just want a quality 1911 without bells and whistles. This is the gun for them.

I've owned a couple of DW 1911's (CBOB and a Stainless Valor) and my DW Stainless Valor is one of the few guns that I regret parting with.

That is an excellent gun caramel, I know you will be impressed when you take it to the range. Just one word of caution, stainless is prone to galling, especially on a brand new tightly fitted 1911. Be sure to run it extra lubey for the first couple hundred rounds. DW recommends Shooter's Choice FP10 but any high quality lube should do.

Enjoy!

Arms East a banner dealer, Steve being of great help and courtesy... I will shop there again... JP.

Yes, they are great to deal with. I'm pretty sure that I bought my Valor from them a few years ago. And I see they have one in stock now.... Damn you caramel! I've been trying to stay from 1911s! They are too addictive. ;)
