Hi all.
Anyone with an idea on where in Canada to find a new or excellent used 715 revolver ? I thought Prophet and Wanstalls were dealers for Dan Wesson but neither returned my inquiries so not sure who deals anymore.

Secondly, anyone who has shot a 715 are they that much better than a Smith 868 or 568? The smith is my second choice.

If you where interested in a gun , why would not deal direct with them instead of posting here?

I didn't know who the dealer's in Canada were so was posting in the pistol forum . Also asking about comparison between it and the 686. Figured it better to ask here than in a dealer forum especially since I stated I'm not particular if new or used... maybe you didn't read the post?

I inquired to Prophet River about getting a 715 a month or two ago. I guess they brought it in anyway. The price was a little scary but now that I have purchased a 15-2 and shot it, I'm considering revisiting the purchase of a 715. What a nice revolver! The action is a little stiff when cocked in single action compared to a Python on my 15-2 but the trigger pull itself is really very nice. The fit and finish and bluing is as nice as my Colt Pythons.

It seems very accurate as I've shot some of the best groups I've been able to get freehand at 25yds with it.

Imho (I've had two 357's) the DA trigger is a bit weird if you are used to a S&W or Ruger.
I love my old DW 22 though it's a really good shooter.

I fellow I know has a 4 1/4 barrel that fits in the original 4 in shroud, in a 22 gun.
The trigger is great on my 357m model 14, it is a different thing from a s-w or colt, read short double action, light, pull, too light as with hard primes a bit iffy.
Did some work on it and better, but I need a new spring, it was a trade in , so don't know the history.
Scotchline, I thought from your post that you where dealing with Clay At P.R. trough gun nutz instead of a deal dealing with them as you said that they did not reply back to you.

I find the DA trigger OK, the single action is weirdly awkward to #### the hammer.

I'd say that the DA is better than most S&W, the SA is light, but cocking is very awkward.

I liked the DW DA better than the Python & 686 I played with at the range.

Python SA hammer cocking is amazingly ###y, DA.... depends whether you like DA stacking or not...
