Hello fellow enthusiasts! :welcome:

I have decided to order a new Dan Wesson Commander Classic Bobtail and I am putting this out to everyone to solicit feedback from anyone who may have anything to say about this particular gun, or its maker in general etc. etc.

Does this gun have a forges frame in addition to the the slide being forged?

What about internals - any MIM?

ww w.cz-usa.com will take you to the manufacturer's website that has pics and info.

Thanks in advance,

THOR

All I can say is that I want one, so when it arrives I'd love to hear some first hand opinions on it. Oh yeah, and I hate you (in a good way) :D

I think that's a superb choice THOR74. Post some pics of it if you get one and tell us where you got it from. DW's are some of the nicest factory 1911's I've seen. Ultra tight and clearly built with quality in mind as most other 1911's just don't seem to deliver that level for the money. They look sweet with the standard Novak style sights that come on the CBT. I bet it's very acurate right out of the box.

Gees, maybe I should give out my E-mail so I can respond faster. Dan Wesson (DW) aren't good pistols, they are great pistols! These pistols are just about handmade. Regards, Richard:D

I would like to have a Commander but don't understand why it costs more than a Government size. Can someone explain me why ?

Actually, the DW 45 Commander costs a bit more than the 45 Govt at wholesale.

The 'bobtail' bits and work + trijicon night sights I presume?

I can post pics of mine all day long :)

Top notch pistol... mine has been deadly reliable, though it does have an occasional tendency to eject the last empty casing right back over the rear sight, sometimes nailing me in the face. Other than that, no issues. Feels and shoots great.

I'm starting to think the straight back ejection is just a Commanders way of telling the shooter it's time to reload
