Dan Wesson is back in the revolver game

Yep. as soon they are available, i will order one in 357 mag and one in 44 mag... Great addition to my herd... JP. :)
 
The little that I have read about the new DW revolvers seems to be positive thus far. The biggest problem seems to be a lack of availability. They had originally announced they were back in the revolver game 3 years ago, I do believe, and there are still very few out there. I have my name in at a couple of dealers that carry DW so if one ever does make its way up to Canada, hopefully I'll get a call.
 
Only thing I'm not sure on is the weight. I have a 6" 586 that I find muzzle heavy. I'd like to see a barrel sans lug
 
Personally I think a Smith 586 or 686 is better looking. But that is my taste. I just bought a brand new 586 as I like blued revolvers with wood grips. It is stunningly good looking.

ditto. the 586/686 has nicest proportions and / best handling of all the full lug guns to me, even if it doesn't have the finishing and cache of the python.
that said I've never shot a DW so i would be tempted to give it a try if i was in the market.
 
A .357 Dan Wesson will be my next revolver purchase to add to the collection. I already have a 586, 686 and a GP100.
 
Heart....broken. No .44?!! I have 2 .357s and one is the Hunter-Pac in original case w/ extra scoped shroud. Both Monsons. Have more than a few .44s in other brands but have always wanted one in a DAN.
 
I already have a few Monson 15-2's with various barrels, so unless DW comes out with a new .44 - I will only be looking at pics of these new 715 issues. I spoke to a factory DW gunsmith yesterday (I needed info for another reason on my 15-2) and he said that this new version 'is getting there', meaning they are balancing production costs with final gunsmithing fitting needs.

The revolver design most likely can't handle the .44 rem mag pounding without frame stretch or the like. Why else would they not wish to compete with the Smith 29 market?
 
The Dan Wesson revolvers, are arguably some of the strongest out there.

I have not seen ANY S&W revolvers chambered in .357 Maximum or .445 Supermag.

I take it, that you know absolutely nothing about Dan Wesson guns.

no doubt the new 715 isn't the same frame size that DW used for their 44, 357 max or 445.
