Dan Wesson Pointman .45ACP Engraved (Sit down before clicking)

So, looking closely at the photos it appears to be a "one of one" special edition having something to do with or commemorating something about the US state of Mississippi.

Why would North Sylva import this to Canada?

In the old Dan Wesson days (prior to CZ) they did do some special edition State guns, they didn't get to all the States prior to closing their doors. Perhaps CZ is digging up the concept again.

If someone is going to go through the effort of making a special engraved edition, wonder why they wouldn't base it on the Valor.

The Valor is blued isn't it? Maybe they were going for the stirling silver look of engraved stainless.

Just for fun I ran some numbers. The PM-7 has a US MSRP of $1597. That's about $2028 CAD at today's rate. Given the price of this gun I guess we are looking at $13,451.10 CAD worth of engraving and grips.

Price is crazy, and it’s not my thing... but I have to laugh at those who can’t appreciate the beauty in this piece. Almost certainly, these guys have a small Canadian Tire safe full of Norincos and hi-point rifles..

I was thinking the exact opposite :)

A “ forced” or “ limited edition” gun rarely appreciates in value. Look at all the commerative Winchesters and Colts out there that can barely sell for what a stock gun is worth.
True collectors have historical or sentimental value and that’s why they are worth something.
As nice or gaudy ( depending on your taste) this gun is, I highly doubt it will resell for anything close to the current asking price. This is a gun for the highly rich collector and will likely never get used. Too rich for my blood for sure.

Amazing craftsmanship. The price seems fair considering how many hours that would take. Unfortunately, it does not represent a theme I would spend that money on. If it were just traditional engraving style or something personally commissioned, then yes. If someone was going to spend full pop, then you might as well commission your own theme or style.

I agree with you about when gun companies try and create an "instant" collectible....it almost never works. Collectibles are created by accidents of history.

Well, I'm not a fan of the look and there is nary a Norinco nor a Hi point in my safe. ;)
