Hi all,
A friend of mine si selling his DW in .357 mag. It is the Monson made model with the interchangeable barrels. I have no experience with interchangeable barels revolvers. Will it be as strong and solid? As solidly built as the Ruger GP100 ? I shoot lots of .357 ammo ( factory loads ). I have a problem seeing a revolver with an easily removable barrell as being solid and strong.

Thanks for your opinions

Gilbert

Out of curiosity, what barrel length do you register if it comes with different barrels? IIRC, isn't one of the barrels a 2" one?
If the Firearms center gets wind that you have a 2 or 4 inch barrel with the gun it instantly becomes a prohib. The only way then to change it to the restricted class is to send the short barrels in for destruction.

Am I ok if it only comes with a 6 inches barrell and I don't have any other barrell for it? The gun is registered as restricted.

Thanks

Gilbert

Thank you Still Alive and thank you all guys for your answers.

I own several dan Wesson revolvers and smiths and rugers and various other makes, far too many for my wife's liking, I bought a .357 when I was a young man and have well over 10,000 rounds through it, it shoots as well as the day it came out of the factory, it locks up tight has an excellent trigger and is extremely accurate. You need not fear a monsoon made dan wesson:d

I have two Dan Wessons in .357 and being able to swap barrels makes having the one pistol a lot more enjoyable than having just one set length. Accurate, great triggers, and robust enough they can handle hot loads of .357 all day everyday.

Really thanks a lot guys for all your answers. Special thanks to Bigrack and Harry Callahan who have patiently dealt with my insecurities.

So update: I bought the pair of Dan Wesson's in the EE. One in .22lr and one in .357 magnum. Both Monson made.
I might post a couple of pics when I get them if you guys behave :)
