Nice!

What is the story on these?

These are made for LA Sheriff's Department (LASD). The only differences are the marking (LASD-DSP instead of Specialist) and it has right thumb safety. We were able to get limited batch at good price so we passed the savings along. These guns would have cost around MSRP$2600-2700. Thanks.

Saw these at my LGS, compared it to the Guardian and Valor ($2700, and $3400) that they had as well, and I saw no difference in trigger pull or fit/finish. The Guardian has a more contoured and melt work done to it, but I could honestly see no difference between the Valor and the Specialist. For the money this pistol is an absolute steal. Absolutely zero movement on slide, or barrel hood. The sights are excellent and the general feel of this is of a custom build. I picked one up for under MSRP in .45 and can't wait to get it home.

I own a Les Baer Premier II, a custom shop Colt, high end SIG 1911, Metro Arms, and many SAM's and put this between the Sig and the Les Baer. My SIG cost me $1500, but my LB was $2800. This sits near the LB in fit and finish but near the SIG in price terms. Pretty damn good deal for a 1911 that'll serve you a lifetime of use.

Back from the range with mine, at $1800 CAD these are the best 1911 for the money hands down, no questions asked. Fully forged, hand fitted, with excellent options and grips. I'd go as far as to say the performance is pretty much on the same level as my LB Premier II, albeit a tiny bit less accurate, but all the quality and craftsmanship.

Damn, I want one of these bad. But this could not have come at a worse possible time, financially... Looks like I'm going to have to sell a gun or tow to make room in the budget for one of these. I've had my eye on the Specialist now for about 3 years and this price is so good it almost feels like a scam! lol I just hope I can still fine a 9mm one when I'm ready to buy.
