Dan Wesson Valor Availablitiy?

They don't exist... I've looked around. I've even gone as far as calling CZ supplier for Canada (I'm pretty sure it was canada) and they haven't had any come through.
They're limited production right now and can't even stock them in the U.S. let alone make enough to export to Canada.

I've heard it might be a half year or 8 months before we even get any here.

Does that gun have a full length guide rod? How about ambi controls? Personally I'm not a huge fan of either and Dan Wesson seems to be the only manufacturer that'll give you a nice tight 1911 without them - apart from Springfield's FBI gun and that's way beyond my budget.

I honestly can't remember if it does or not. I'm away on business this week and when i get back to Van this weekend I'll check and post a pic in the 1911 pic thread for you to see. I think it does have the full length guide rod but not ambi safety. I have so many 1911's I'm loosing track. The only thing that bothered me when I got it was the rear sight was way off center so much that I wondered how that got through final inspection. My gunsmith has it right now as he's doing a trigger job on it and smoothing out the action. The trigger pull was terrible. It weighed in at over 7lbs of pull and that just won't do. DW's rock for the money - mostly Ed Brown parts on it. Very well put together. I scraped the Micarta grips and put some rubber combat grips on it. Micarta soaks oil and makes the grips look completely different and you have to wash then in detergent to get that original look back.....who has time for that. I actually do shoot it and enjoy it.

Pics if anyone's interested....

[no, it's not mine......:(]
