How come Dan Wesson 1911's are so expensive but his revolvers seem to sell for really cheap used. Is there an issue with the revolvers?

DW/CZ is back making revolvers, but the 715 is the only model in production and it is a new design/model.

Generally the DW revolvers are well thought of, and are well built and reliable. Getting spare parts and such may be difficult.

They generally sell for less than comparable S&W revolvers (which you can still get parts for) but really not that much less.

CZ didn't make the originals. But CZ owns DW now. DW / CZ lists one revolver model, as of yet not released, that is it.

Depends on what breaks, but they are generally pretty reliable. You might be able to find the spare parts you need without needing to having something machined. A good gun smith can work wonders as well. I wouldn't let spare parts availability worry stop me from buying a nice used DW revolver for the right price.

I have two of the revolvers, and have had others in the past. When new, the DW revolvers actually sold for a little more then S&W revolvers in the same calibers (when available). DW's were the darlings of the silhouette shooters (why I bought mine, and where I ran into 90% of the DW revolvers I ever saw). Very accurate, strong guns. They do wear, as they are a machine like any other. CZ is selling them now, I have no idea which plant is actually building them (there have been a few) now though. Some parts are still available, from Numrich and other parts dealers as well as DW themselves. FWIW - dan
