Dang!! Directly After I Told Her I Was All Done....

The 45-70 has my interest. I like the traditional looks of the brass version. At US$549 these will probably retail for about CAN$900.

Or maybe I should wait until there's a tactical model available in 458 Special Operations Command.

Not a bad price when you consider what some " nuts" are asking for used handi rifles on the EE.

I love my handis but only at the 300 and under price.

I just got a big boy for Xmas and my wife paid 849 plus tax for it back in November. These singles will be hopefully in the 550 range and lower on sale.

She is a good sport about my purchases and I honestly thought I had all the bases covered, some angles more than once......... ;) BUT then I stumbled upon this, hmmmmm nice simple 45-70. Have to email Clay.... :runaway:

Quite a good balance for weight and size actually. I could only imagine touching off a hot 45-70 in a 5lb rifle. Or trying to steady that 350 yard shot with a 5 lb .223. I think the heft of these is probably a good thing. But that butt plate and the straight stock on the brass model looks like it would be unpleasant in a hot 45-70 even if it weighed 10lbs. Still...hard to justify $600 Canadian or more even if they are better built than the H&R. Although in 45-70 there is an appeal....

Dak, I seen your lady in the over 30 thread. Not worth the fight, IMHO. LOL
