Dangerous Game Rifle build suggestions?

I was thinking the same thing. Looks like a rifle that was made to carry in and around thick bush. But the damn handle on the wrong side.

Don't pay any attention to those shooters that aren't in their "right minds"! LOL
Nice rifle!

I built a custom LH Ruger Model 77 in 376 Steyr. It has a 21" King barrel with a Wenig pepper laminated full length stock, LimbSaver recoil pad, NECG banded front sight and a NECG peep for back up. And the barreled action has been tefloned. I have mounted a Leupold Vari X III 1.5-5x20 scope on it. The action is glass and pillar bedded with cross bolts, and the trigger tuned to 3 lbs pull. It will shoot the 260 gr AccuBond at 2632 fps with a charge of 62.0 gr of H335 into groups of just over 1/2" at hundred yards, and is a pussycat to shoot off of the bench. It has accounted for an elk and a bison to date. Originally, the barrel was to be 20", but they asked me to check the feel and balance before cutting the barrel to 20", and it felt great, and we had enough stock material to finish there. Have been very happy with it!

I also built its big sister in a 416 Taylor with a 22" King Barrel. Everything else is the same, except that it is still in a Ruger pepper laminated stock. It will shoot the Barnes 350 gr TSX at 2400 fps with 69.0 gr of Re-17 into less than 1/2" groups at 100 yards. Not the hottest load, but it shoots so nice, why mess with it? LOL The plan is to put it into a nutmeg laminated full length stock in the future. Want to take a bison with it too. And hopefully take it to Africa someday.

Went with these calibers as they both fit a regular long action, and I easily found the donor rifles on the used gun racks for a decent price. And they are not cartridges that everyone has, and at a time I was experiencing shoulder issues, the less recoil was an attractive option.

Sorry, cannot add pics, but if interested, pm me and I can send to e-mail or cell#.

i know it's not a .375, but if they were any good, i'd imagine a browning or benelli auto in 9.3x62 would be hard to beat. just curious if anyone here has had any experience with any of those rifles, reliability, accuracy etc.

weatherby mark v in 378 wby. In a b&c stock. Barrel has been shortened to 20", added a second recoil lug and cerakoted the whole thing. Wearing a vx-5 1.5-5x but i'm stil considering having irons installed. Not as pretty as some here but it's handy to carry and nigh on indestructible. Surprisingly pleasant to shoot to

wow...
