Dangerous Tara TM-9!!!

Is this normal for firearms company's to do big runs of blank/ rubber bullet guns with no markings, seems beyond odd.

Tara absolved themselves announcing a notification on sept, 17, 2021 that they don’t assume any responsibility or warranty if these pistols are used with real ammunition. So I take it lots of people are hooped. Perhaps the dealer, auction house, or secondary market seller should carry some burden, but you’re not going to get anywhere.
I’d try to find out in what way where they different and inquire about replacement parts if it’s anything other than the frame.

They can run all the bs they want, but if they dumped a bunch of crap with out telling people these are crap, not real guns , I can see a law suite happening.
Problem being , in the US , they don't usually include Ca.
I have never has one of these, steel slide, or pot metal? Tupper ware frame I presume. Why I like old steel and wood , 1911'

Reading further, still a real strange thing, Some one said they know the story, But I can't see a company shooting them self in the foot by posting a bunch of crap that could, should drag their ass into court, or a importer, dealer.

That's actually rather funny since I know the story behind these. These were purchased from a distributor in Europe and brought into Canada by some Canadian distributors. Tara got mad that the European distributor sold them to other distributors and then posted all the serial numbers saying they were blank/rubber bullet guns as some type of revenge tactic. They are regular 9mm guns, Tara just had a hissy fit that they weren't sold thru them.

Big if true. I own a TM9 and I'm currently pretty pissed that Tara is saying this now without any potential for recourse.

How sure are you of this story and where did you hear this? Why would they want the bad publicity just to spite some no-name distributors?

Edit: TBH though, this story actually sounds somewhat plausible. Especially when considering that Tara is based out of some Balkan nation no-one knows about. Unlike almost every other small arms manufacturer we buy from here in Canada, the company is even too small to even have a Wikipedia page named after them.

Anyone know of any Canadian TM9s that aren't on the list? I got my rubber bullet TM9 mid-way through the handgun ban phase last summer. So, considering that these so-called "rubber bullet guns" have been coming out since 2018 (?), I wonder if there was ever a time when they weren't importing them in this form?

They posted the rubber bullet comment on their website back in 2021 though. Goddamn, I can't believe it took almost 1.5 years for story to blow.

So, now that the manufacturer has stated that they are not a true, full fledged firearm…. Can you now transfer these to someone else?

You can't so don't matter . mind you if they are not real guns, should there be a certificate on them?:stirthepot2:
You may have a point, not that it will work.

It seems odd because it is. They are 9mm guns, TARA just got mad their distributor sold them to another distributor then posted all the serial numbers. Doesn’t anyone find it odd the serial numbers don’t start so high…it’s because they posted that specific block of serial.

Not that it matters in Canada any more, but If I was still a dealer , I would tell them where they can stick all their pos guns in the future, not that the Canadian market mattered to them I guess from their actions.

If the revenge story is true, that would be the stupidest move from any company.

They would put their whole reputation in jeopardy just for spite.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I still shoot it at my local PPC league. 60 rounds per line of my handloads (115gr Campro over AA#2). I have no concerns since I have been shooting it fairly regularly since I bought it. In fact I recently picked up another 3 magazines for it, giving me 8 in total.

If anyone knows where to get 15 round magazines in the USA (*** I would leave them in the USA for USA competitions!!! I have a locker near the US range where I shoot!) please share. My Google skills appear to be lacking.

We could get a class action lawsuit.

Ya I don't know. The total cost of the gun is the same as a half hour of legal fees. You'll have a better class action case when folks start loosing bits of digits and face parts
