About 1 in 20 of my handloads would not chamber in a new m5. I phoned DD and spoke to Jeff, the warranty manger. he offered to replace the barrel. That seemed extreme. I said I wanted to try touching the chamber with a chamber reamer, to make it larger.

he said i was welcome to try that and if i screwed it up the offer for a new barrel on warranty still stood. Service cannot be better than that.

He suggested I buff the chamber with a bore brush before resorting to the reamer. I did that. I put a chamber brush on a section of a 3 piece cleaning rod, dabbed it with some JB paste and spun it with my electric drill.

Today I ran 50 rounds through the rifle with no problem. I am guessing there was a small burr or a piece of crud in there causing the chambering problem.

Rifle now has a Rock River trigger and is a superb piece of kit:)

Looking forward to seeing this run without Tim getting to bring out "the Hammer" at the next match. I knew you would get that rifle figured out! Sounds like a great response from the guys at DD as well!

Standby up warranty support i would think

How would that work for export/ import?

Would your dealer handle the the shipping/receiving of the barrel exchange?

No.

But as it happens, two days ago I ran another ammo test involving the most promising loads of the two rifles (Norc M4 and DD M5). Both were wearing their 1-4 scopes.

There was no difference or advantage of one rifle or the other. Both got the best 55gr results with mild loads.

Now that both have good triggers, the better fit and feel of the DD is evident. But, at double the cost, it had better feel better.
