If by M4-style you mean a KAC 2-piece RAS than yes, it's an excellent system that won't require you to remove the FSB for installation like the DD, which is a PITA for negligible accuracy benefits on a carbine length rifle for range use. But hey, to each their own.

BTW, I think the DD replaced the RAS in the revised SOPMOD package, I'm assuming they know what they're doing.

I voted for the AR15 Lite...

If I remember correctly the M4 style is not a true free floating system and basically replaces the plastic handguards with metal. If so, it is really not much better (perhaps lighter) than what I have from UTG except it costs three times as much....

The AR15 Lite looks to be free floating. Granted it is ~$100 more than the M4 but at least you should see accuracy enhancement for the money spent.

Wrong. DD M4 rails are free floating. They are both great.

One thing I like about the M4 style is that is sortta resembles a Larue rail. It's also very light and $80 cheaper then the AR lite...

Does anybody have any pics of their DD setups? Or pics of a 9" Middy rail on a 14.5" carbine?

I asked the guys at DD during SHOT about the reason behind keeping both styles; They told me it's more or less because of demand, some people just like the old KAC look of it. Obviously, same high quality, with the lite rail being just a touch lighter.

Too bad, it looks very similar in the pictures. So that's another $50ish added to the cost of the DD Lite.

Is it worth it?

The way I see it - DD like is slightly lighter, offer uninterrupted rail on the top and has a little more sturdy mounting system.

Is that worth $100 extra to you?

I prefer the M4 rails myself.
