yeah mine was gritty too I didn't have the patience to wear it in so i polished the surfaces and boy what an improvement. out of the box it was gritty to the point when you pull the trigger slightly and then let off it wouldn't slide back into the beginning point. not a huge deal these ar 15 triggers are all mostly like this from what i gather. however that being said i bought a rock river LPK and the trigger and hammer surfaces are smooth as silk. I kept the DD trigger though cause after i polished it it is very smooth and the springs are fairly light. it went bang everytime i pulled the trigger and the casings were all in the same general 3 o clock position. the casing deflector shows wear right at the tip i inspected the brass and there were no dents in the brass and the rims were in good shape too. all i did to it was polish the sear surfaces and oil it with regular gun oil.
