I currently have a Norinco CQA 10.5" carbine. I've wanted to build or buy a complete 16" upper with a mid length gas system for a while now. I'll be using it for Service Rifle matches. I'm just curious if anyone out there can tell me if a Daniel Defense upper is compatible with a Norinco lower. Has anyone tried this before?

Should work. The pins may be tight or it could have some wobble but the norinco is just another ar. My norc upper goes on my stag lower and vice versa no problems.

Sell the Norinco and buy a complete DD rifle, if you do the math by the time you build or buy a new upper, you are pretty much just couple hundred shy of buying a complete DD rifle.

Wrong. Keep the Norinco AND buy the DD. More guns are always better.

I bought the DDM4v2 upper new from wolverine and use it with my Windham Weaponry lower, the Pivot Pin is VERY tight, and the rear take down pin is snug.
absolutely ZERO wobble when assembled, gun shoots great BUT as I said that forward Pivot Pin is extremely tight and I need a punch if I want to take it out.
I can still open it up for cleaning when sliding out the rear take down pin...I thought this was an issue but from what read on the NET its nothing to be concerned about...
Some say tighter is better!
