Daniel defense vs Armalite

Ken Hackathorn also had a favorable opinion of DD.

Still, my first choice is for a Stag Arm from Arms East. If you want to spend money LMT or Knight Armament.

Frankly I am waiting to see those NEA Canadian made ARs for $1000 come out.

Dude, I have seen the NEA rifles...if you can wait a few months I would wait, myself.

The only reason I would do otherwise is that I believe Daniel Defense does a CHF barrel, which is just unbeatable. I think I would take a DD over anything else available to me (partly on the strength of Hack's recommendation as well) BUT if you aren't getting a CHF barrel, or if that's not a huge priority for you, I think the NEA guns will be tough to beat, or even to match.

Word is they are shooting for DD in terms of competition, but the price is going to be substantially lower.

I am after an NEA the minute they are released.

If the Armalite is an AR10 then it could be a fair price. The target ones sold for $3000 new. You can get an Armalite M15 for $1200 but it's the export version.

NEA would get my vote, who out of our dealers have actually brought in complete DD rifles beside Questar? In my humble opinion DD is a great company and are doing a lot of things right, but for price and rumored quality of the NEA AR line i think a lot of the US manufacturers days are numbered here...

Looking for a DD lower as well. Cant find it anywhere.

Been through the ringer on that, they don't make lowers anymore. Just uppers and Rail systems, that and complete rifles. I wanted a lower to match my upper, but just went Noveske.

The LAV can buy a ton of Big Crunch Combos with that budget for a starter AR. But I agree with the last few posts. Noveske is my vote

I own a Noveske upper and was quit pleased right of the bat, screamed quality and was really smooth...and well balanced..

Both are good company's... I dont think the Armalite is worth $400 more though.

The LMT's are nice too... Decent deals at Questar it seems...
