Hi, I inherited a Danish m1848 in excellent museum quality. Appears to be first year of production, with low serial number of 515. I’m not an antique collector so was looking for a value before I list it. Any thoughts please message me. Thanks.

That's a very cool, very uncommon rifle. Value might be difficult to give, it'll appeal to a small slice of serious collectors commensurate with its obscurity and rarity. You will likely get best value at a larger auction house providing you do some research and provide them a well written lot description. It's much rarer than a Milbank-Amsler which tend to hover in the $1500 range so take that for what you will! Quite the inheritance, thanks for sharing photos.
Thanks for the reply. I’ve done as much reading online as I can regarding the Danish m1848 traprifle. Only found one reference of value from a Danish auction where it sold for the equivalent of $6200. But like you said, it would’ve been to a serious collector of Danish history.
You might like to offer it to Dr Balázs Németh - the guy who produces those fascinating Youtube movies under the title of capandball. The Kammerlader rifle you have is extremely rare anywhere, let alone in Canada and he is a serious collector as well as a shooter. Try kapzsli.hu.
