I'm thinking of bringing in Danner Kinetic's but I'm not that familiar with them. Any comments etc? Is anyone wearing them as a duty boot?

I have the tan coloured ones....used them for hunting then as workboots, very tough boot and waterproof. Still holding up.

i can't speak for that model in particular, but i have owned about 8 pairs of Danners over the last 7 or so years; casual, hunting and work. up until this year, i was their biggest fan boy. now? my last two pairs of workboots lasted 4 months each. I've switched to Red Wings.

While I don't have those pair in particular, I have a pair of the Acadias and they were the most comfortable boots I've ever purchased. The quality of Danners is pretty top notch.... Well IMO at least.

I have two pairs I wear on patrol , both are Danner Striker ll GTX , both gortex, I wear the 400 gram insulated version for winter and the non insulated version for summer. I do not wear the zipper side however many of our members prefer the less expensive (swat type brand) zip ups, but regardless of what anyone says, zip ups always seem to leak. My boots outlast the cheaper ones by a mile.

Yes. I wear them as duty boots. Had a pair for about a year. They are relatively light boots, good ankle support and they take a beating. They don't look as though they can be re-soled.

I also have two pairs of Danner Acadia boots. They are heavier but invincible and can be resoled. You'd wouldn't go wrong stocking them both!

Please...get the Vibram soled Danners like the Acadia or Ft Lewis, not the one piece made in China Kinetics.

The Ft Lewis sh1ts all over the Kinetics as a serious boot.

As a piece of light, uniform footwear, the Kinetics are inferior to Oakley.

I will buy many more pairs of Ft Lewis over my lifetime...will never buy Kinetics.

I wore the winter Danners for a couple of years on duty and found the winter ones to be fantastic in cold weather and they held up very well. They even survived to be downgraded to be a hunting boot when I left Policing.

Danners are a good boot, used a pair in the sand box as a patrol boot. Very light, very comfortable and they wore slowly. The one I had were the Danner TFX.

I'm very familiar with Danner's, just not Kinetics. Just looking for info on that model but thanks for the other comments.

I've set up a lot of officers with Danner's and the Kinetic boot seems well liked. The Torrent is another boot that is at a similar price point and comes with a Vibram sole. The Ft Lewis and Acadia are awesome boots, top of the line for sure as everyone has suggested. For a retailer like Ryan though, people should remember that he can't just carry those higher priced boots...the Kinetic is half the price of those other boots and some customers just cannot or won't spend $300 on a pair of duty boots.

Chemist you're killing me here. My boots were dead. I held out looking at your website every few days for these fabled Danier boots. Finally I couldn't put it off any more. I ended up going with standard issue. They suck. Look great with polish for parade or court but not very good work boots.

Please get the good stuff in and at a good price. I want to polish these ones up and put them away while they still look new.

Thanks.

This coming spring will be the third year wearing my Danner Pronghorn boots. I absolutely love the light weight, they're completely water proof, and they worn hunting with 5-10kms a day on them. They breathe well, are comfortable from about +20C down to about -5C. Higher temps and I sweat, lower and they're not quite warm enough. The only major criticism I have (and it's a biggy, already mentioned here) is that they're narrow at the toe. I bought mine in the widest width offered..and STILL they hurt a little for the first 5 minutes of wearing them. Even when you look at them, they're not really "foot" shaped at the toe, they're too round. A lesser issue is that I think they're meant for guys with bean pole skinny legs. I can see the tongue exposed on both sides at the top when I lace them up. Love/hate? More love, but I'll be looking closer at these 2 issues before I buy another pair.
