The springs are for heavy vs light loads with medium being the factory setting. It's 10 percent difference between them. The barrels come with a sporter chamber which allows you to shoot CCI stingers and the 16.5 has the option of a match chamber which won't cycle the longer CCI Stinger rounds most people just pick Sporter chamber. The 8.5 inch barrel requires a Boyds SS Evolution stock and it also requires a XB5 Muzzle break.
