Dark Bore Cleaning

Yes, IN my '51 Tulas I used Rem-40X - a liquid with fine abrasive 'suspended' (when you shake it up) - to clean out the last of the 'dark areas'. I poured it onto an 'over-cal' brass brush to scrub the 'edges' of the rifling so virtually no crap remained. It still shot like an SKS - ca 4-5 MOA - HA ! Looks like it was never cleaned well b4 I got it, and NO chrome bore.
Then a pic of my new T-56 Frenchie last month after cleaning the Cosmoline out.

Wipe Out and JB bore paste.
Unless you're shooting cupro nickel jacketed bullets, you shouldn't need JB's bore paste as well as Wipe Out.

Ok, read your later post as well, I can see using JB's in such a case. Sometimes you just have to get something more aggressive to get the job done in a reasonable time frame.

I went thru similar process - Hoppes, then C4, then Hoppes Cu solvent, then went to the Rem 40X 'polish' with a brass brush. At least I didn't go to the Pro-shot 'Torpedo' SS 'brush, could use a Dremel instead of that ? "Aggressive" ?
