DARK has M305`again

Bought just such a rifle from Roger last spring - it appears to be identical to the Marstar supplied M305's.
I can also vouch for Roger's exceptional qualities - a very straight-up guy.

well, I sent dark an emt on sunday, got my new m14s today.... funny thing... 2 rifles arrived by canada post today, at the same time, a norc sks and a norc m14s both shipped from different sellers. Both packages marged signature required...... Can Post was leaving them at the door!!! I was in the middle of a nature call ( 
) when they knocked and the guy just left the packages leaning beside my door . good thing i was home.
anyhow, pre range review..... beautiful specimen of the chinese variety.
sights are straight and true, machinist levels indicate the barrel is correctly timed.... the stock ferrule at the gas chamber is tight as tight can be... this may change after firing a bit. Gas system appears to be right on the money and may not need any further shimming to unitize... again, we'll see after the 1st trip to the range. receiver is marked "M 14 .308 Norinco" and below that it reads "MADE IN CHINA CJA SFLD MI" #008511.
this rifle cames as advertised on the web.... with sling, cleaning accessories and tools, 2 in the plastic 5 rnd shorty mags and one 5/20. It came with most of the cosmoline has been cleaned from the rifle and stock, but right now i have it all stripped down, barrel off, and ALL metal parts are soaking in my varsol tank.
Rodger exhibited excellent and prompt communication, accepted EMT payment and had this rifle shipped without delay. If I had 5 thumbs, they'd all be up so instead he gets 5 big fat stars for customer service and for excellent product. Deal with confidence

Just got mine today.
I was surprised by the color of the wood - it was a dark almost black shade not the usual wood type color. Maybe most M14S are like this but I wouldn't know this is my first. It included everything it said it would except I can't find the cleaning kit. Maybe it is inside the butt stock which I can't seem to figure out how to open. Any tips?
Anyway, overall it seems pretty good and I am looking forward to taking it out.

lift the rear butt plate, it hinges up. then look at the face of the metal underneath.... it will have a small oval hatch. depress the tab on one side and the hatch will open. cleaning kit , tool and oil will be there.

Mine will be shipped on Monday. I sure hope I'm as lucky as 45ACPKING regarding barrel indexing and gas block alignment!

I finally gave up on waiting for Marstar's to arrive. Considering the extras that Rodger includes the price is actually pretty much the same.
If/when Marstar's arrive I think I'll buy another since they will be the last made. Apparently there are no more actions left, all the actions were made years ago and they have just been slowly assembling them.
I'll let you all know asap!
