I dropped 100lbs of apples at my tree stand on the 4th of Oct. and set up my trail cam on the 11th I had some pics of deer at my apples so I dropped another 200lbs and 100lbs of corn now I have bears, they try to bury the corn with leaves, 2 cubs and mom, how do I get rid of them so I can still hunt my spot, before this thread goes the wrong way, I CAN BAIT IN NB

Nothing. Once a bear finds a food source it will keep coming back until the food source is exhausted. Even after that, it will come back periodically to check and see if there is more food there.

Yep same thing happening to me, got 35 trail cam pics in 24 hrs of a bear eating my apples. Guess I will have to take care of the bear before deer hunting opens.

buy a bear tag, season runs to the first. :D bear sausage trumps all!

Well you can do what a few NB hunters have done and gut shoot the bear so that she runs off a dies a few hundred yards away.... of course, if someone did that I would hope they get caught!!!

You could of course get 3 people with tags to shoot each cub and the sow in order which would be legal but maybe a bit over the top.

The only other option is see is spooking the bear everytime you see her, but she would likely just go nocturnal, probably moving your stand is the only option.

One of my friends had some luck with putting coarse salt on the apples, doesn't bother the deer but the bears don't seem to enjoy it that much.

You got a sow predating on fawns next spring & two more coming up!

As you can guess I don't care for bears but even less when there's too many & you have apple trees

I checked my camrea on Friday, some pics of bears at night and the deer are back in the day, the last 4 days ... more apples ... more apples don't know if my back can take it

Cull Carrots. Just about every bait hunter has changed from apples to carrots over the last number of years in Nova Scotia. The apples can be placed in small quantities for scent to get them coming and once they get on the carrots you're good. You don't get that early season hornet cloud from the carrots either unloke apples that draw the buggers. Most of the valley farms are lined with pick ups 3-4 weeks before the season and paying $30 per bin.
